Savant performs a wide range of bench tests on
engine oils, transmission fluids, gear oils and other automotive lubricants.
We specialize in quality assured bench testing of engine oils for meeting
API and ILSAC specifications.
Several of these required tests were developed right here in our laboratories.
Savant offers testing services on many GF-2, GF-3, and GF-4 bench tests, including
special package prices. Contact
us for further information and to schedule testing on your samples.
Technical Services
Savant provides expertise to help customers develop
their own laboratory capabilities, train technicians and interpret test results.
We develop informative, understandable graphics to communicate the meaning
of the test data. Contact
us with your needs and for further information about Savant's custom services.
Technical Expertise
Savant's staff is headed by Research and Development
Director Ted Selby, an internationally known researcher in lubricant properties
and performance. His many technical
papers and presentations emphasize the pervasive need for high quality
lubricants in developed and developing countries. He has identified many solutions
to long standing problems in areas of lubricant measurement such as oxidation
resistance and deposit formation, viscosity measurement at high temperatures
and shear rates, temporary and permanent viscosity loss and low-temperature
pumpability.
ASTM Test Methods
Savant conducts lubricant testing according to
ASTM or other international standard test methods. We provide technical input
to numerous subcommittees of ASTM Committee D.02 on Petroleum Products and
Lubricants in order to assist with the continuous improvement of test methods
important to the formulation of high quality lubricants. Our laboratory is
a participant in the ASTM Interlaboratory Crosscheck Program which regularly
compares results of more than 700 laboratories around the world on standard
engine oil tests. We also participate in the ASTM Test Monitoring Center calibration
program for ILSAC GF series bench tests.
