Job Scope

This Quality Assurance and Parts Coordinator is multi skilled in understanding areas of mechanical, electrical, quality, and assembly.  This position requires the knowledge to understand mechanical and electrical drawings, along with the ability to inspect and assemble parts and subassemblies.  The main objective of this role is to ensure the parts and assemblies are in accordance with the QA standards according to electrical and mechanical guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality of parts received for manufacturing and customers.
  • Identify incorrect parts and instrument drawings.
  • Assist manager with identifying areas of improvement to eliminate failed parts received.
  • Provides daily guidance and tracking of QA data improvements related to performance and instrumentation issues.  
  • Lead quality management program / ISO initiatives including process improvements, procedure documentation, training, and internal audits.
  • Receive parts into the system as they arrive from suppliers.  Any non-Tannas parts received are moved immediately to shipping department for disbursement.  
  • Ensure received parts are distributed to stock or QA bench for approval and subsequent stocking.  
  • Assemble parts and instrument sub-assemblies.  
  • Ensure the test equipment is calibrated, where necessary, and within specifications as outlined in the ISO guidelines.
  • Oversee bottling program with parts assistants.  Ensure proper labels and QA are maintained.  
  • Provide written procedures and reports when required.  
  • Understand and in some cases perform detailed wiring according to the ladder diagram schematics associated with the assembly and basic operational verification of precision instruments.
  • Perform inspections on in-coming instrument’s mechanical and electrical components and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Assist Materials Coordinator to build sub-assemblies and glean appropriate parts from assigned picklists.
  • Blend reference oils as needed (backup to Materials Coordinator when necessary).
  • Maintain data books, work instructions, and associated records.
  • Log into and out of shop floor work orders accurately.
  • Follow mechanical drawings and work instructions guidelines to build parts.
  • Help maintain inventory accurately during the build process.  
  • Daily use of table saw, hand tools, and some small machining equipment.

Key Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of refrigeration to include installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, high, and low AC voltage, to include solid state and electronic applications.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with electronics, tooling, machining, and computers. 
  • Soldering, brazing, and welding experience preferred.
  • Experience using a table saw and hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow work instructions guidelines.
  • Good dexterity and hand skills.
  • Sharp attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Self-starter, strong work ethics with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization, facilitation, and project management skills.

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED; Associates degree in Administration or other two-year degree is preferred.
